Job Summary: Parking Services is a joint service supporting both Ontario Tech University and Durham College across multiple locations, including the shared North Oshawa campus, Ontario Tech’s downtown Oshawa campus, and Durham College’s Whitby campus. The Parking Services team works across both institutions to provide consistent, customer-focused parking services to students, employees, visitors and the broader campus community.
The Parking Compliance Officer helps ensure the safe, orderly and effective use of campus parking facilities by monitoring parking areas, supporting compliance with parking regulations and payment requirements, and providing professional front-line assistance to customers.
This is an active, field-based position that involves driving, walking and working outdoors throughout the year. Compliance Officers patrol parking facilities across the North Oshawa campus, Ontario Tech’s downtown Oshawa campus and Durham College’s Whitby campus. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, using technology in the field, applying policies consistently and interacting professionally with customers - including during difficult or potentially challenging situations. This position is an on-campus, in-person role.
The successful candidate will be required to work between all three campus locations and must arrange their own transportation to and from work locations. A mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts will be required.

- Identify and document suspected fraudulent or stolen permits and other parking irregularities.
- Support vehicle immobilization and towing processes when required.
- Serve as a first point of contact for customers in parking areas, providing assistance with wayfinding, payment options, permits, parking citations, and immobilized or towed vehicles.
- Provide clear, respectful explanations of parking rules and violations and help customers resolve routine payment or permit issues.
- Use customer-service, conflict-resolution and de-escalation techniques when dealing with difficult interactions.
- Participate in the parking appeals process as required.
- Monitor parking equipment, signage, pay stations, LPR systems and other infrastructure and report operational or safety concerns.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of LPR equipment and other parking technology in the field and coordinate service or maintenance requests when needed.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports and other operational documentation.
- Assist with basic vehicle and equipment maintenance, including fueling, mileage tracking and monitoring supplies.
- Assist with traffic direction and vehicle flow during high-volume periods and campus events.
- Support temporary parking arrangements and respond to changing operational conditions during events.
