Priority during and after a storm
Crews first keep main roads and emergency routes passable, then move to residential streets. Continuing snow may send equipment back to primary routes before a neighbourhood is finished.
Use the tracker before a service request, but do not read a map trail as a guarantee of bare pavement or a scheduled return. The main source does not promise a universal number of hours for every residential road.

Parking that allows work
No street parking is allowed between 3 and 5 a.m. year-round. During a snow event, the street ban applies at any time of day or night, even with a permit.
A vehicle blocking snow work can be ticketed and towed. Parked vehicles stop plows reaching the curb and can delay all clearing on that street. Arrange an off-street alternative before weather arrives.

What the tracker and reporting routes do
GPS records where maintenance vehicles have been in the previous 24 hours, with updates every five minutes. It is not the exact vehicle location or a displayed future route. The map works on phones.
For drifting snow, icy roads or downed trees requiring winter-road attention, call 905-623-3379 extension 2661. After-hours road emergencies go to Oshawa Fire Dispatch at 905-433-1234. Non-emergency issues use Service Clarington.
